SUNDAY 6 JUNE 2010: - BEN AND TRISH ATTEND THE TAEKWONDO NSW REFEREES SEMINAR
Ben and Trish are keen and passionate about contributing to the Taekwondo community in Australia, as such both Ben and Trish were happy participants in the recent Taekwondo NSW referee seminar. Both Ben and Trish are registered referees under Taekwondo Australia, and participate in a referee capacity at state championships.
The day consisted of a revision of centre referee skills, improving reaction times and assessments of scoring points for corner judges, and an open forum discussion on ways to improve the experience for referees, judges, competitors and their coaches. A highlight of the seminar focused on managing heated behaviour from coaches against referees and judges. The key message from our State Championship coordinators is that bad behaviour towards referees, judges and volunteers will not be tolerated, and that senior officials will continue to encourage both officials and participants to approach them to resolve problems and issues, as well as look to them for support and direction.
The next referee seminar is scheduled for Sunday 25 July, with the morning session being open to the greater taekwondo community. The cost for the morning session is $35, and Koryo Martial Arts students are welcome to attend. Please see Chief Instructor Benjamin to express your interest in attending.

The students, while nervous, showed excellent poise and technique to excell in their demonstrations. The groups consisted of three white belt groups and a blue belt. All students were grouped with other students they felt comfortable with to ensure that added support and confidence so their skills could shine through.
Congratulations to the following white belts who successfully attained their 8th Gup Yellow Belts: Daniel Bradford, Alan Houang, Sean Kwek, Milan Milos, Mladen Milos, Vesna Milos, Jacob Nguyen, Som Nhottivong, Rattana Rathanchan, and Muy Tea. MONDAY 18 JUNE 2007: - OUR SCHOOL OPENS IT'S DOORS
Monday 18 June 2007, our school doors opened at Bonnyrigg Primary School. Head Instructor Ben's nervousness was high but excitment won the day with Ben and the first students. Our first students came from all age groups and set the way for a positive atmosphere that has continued on to this day.
From the first day Koryo Martial Arts provided safe and effective facilities and equipment. Our first students enjoyed mat covered floors, punching bags and kicking pads.
The school's main aim was and still is to provide safe and enjoyable training environment. However, the aim of the school, in tradtion with all martial arts is to challenge our students and see them succeed in reaching their full potential.
